The study site is at the crossroads of several important territorial entities. The Seine, in the north the Bois de Boulogne, in the west the park of Saint-Cloud, in the south the wood of Meudon and finally, the railways and major roads that make up the landscape framework.
The Seine is a real and imaginary thread to remote landscapes where a rebound is taking place, a succession of forests, parks and gardens, which mark the entrance to the city from the left bank, which then fragment and distribute themselves. in micro-urban landscapes.
Seguin Island, formerly the historic center of Renault and the Seine River, represents the historical context with the strong industrial past of Boulogne-Billancourt.
In an urbanized environment, it is essential to note the presence of large green fields and landscaped axes that weave links and call to many points of attraction: both right and left bank.
The project area, built vocation, is located at the intersection of the green frame (forest continuity) and the blue frame, represented by the Seine. This location offers a privileged link to this landscape pocket.
The location of our site is part of a meander of the Seine, ending in a point like the bow of a boat and evokes an inspiring urban break between the mineral and the plant.
The D5 islet is located at the confluence of curves between the blue frame, the green grid marked by the Park of Billancourt and the slopes of Meudon, and the linear urban fabric of the Trapeze district.
The project site appears at the forefront of this landmark, such as the bow of a boat, and evokes an inspiring urban escape.
This feeling of slowness is accentuated by the composition of the surroundings of the site, where plantations rise from the meadows of Billancourt Park, to the treetops of the Quai Gorse. The project wants to support this dynamic by creating terraces and "aerial" vegetable pockets, graduating the elevation built from the park to the Renault tower, point of call of the island and echo the tower Horizon. We aspire to extend Billancourt's park on different levels of reference, inside the island and on the fifth facades (terraces and roofs).
From a general point of view, the vegetated terraces will carry biodiversity, offering different types of plantations and therefore habitats.
The terraces of the Renault Tower will offer inviting spaces for external meetings, meeting places and sharing activities.
