Wear a prospective outlook on energy management in 2050 imply to consider new ways of life of our society. The transition induced by the third industrial revolution will indeed be highly energy but also ecological, economic, social and cultural. This is why its success is as much in the global strategy of its implementation in the deployed and technologies employed. Without naivety, we see the world in 40 years in a confident and positive manner, in line mutations and insights that we currently identify more likely, diversification, mutable, sharing and equality. We are convinced that at the time of the digital advent, where everything is transmitted instantly and remotely, no longer enough simply to share - electricity for example - but it is crucial to think and to qualify the physical locations of these exchanges as real synergies between the media people.
It appears that the agglomeration of Lille takes quite a mineral character, and is not very well endowed with major urban areas. Yet while it is just 15 minutes walk from the city center, one feels along the Vauban quarter, an unusual closeness to nature. Paradoxically, the Deûle which is a few remains very visible and the city seems to turn his back. We therefore believe that, first, the EDF project must propose a reconquest of nature in the city and reconnecting with water - walking, water sports etc. We have therefore questioned the profile of the urban boulevard provided on the Boulevard de Lorraine and imagined the installation of a "linear park" between city and water, which can extend to the Deûle Park, which would act as a "malleable space device". A place for multiple uses and able to host events while remaining neutral when there is none. This large natural area will also insert the infrastructure differently, and generate much lighter crossings. The train tram could for example be integrated into this "parkway" so that the Technopole Vauban are better interconnected.
The project site and connected to the Deûle by a new open space, near the subway exit Port of Lille, the foot crossing with White Woods and "stapled" to Lille pentagon by the Place du Maréchal Leclerc could thus well the building density is different, become a real destination east of the city and create a kind of balance with the Saint Sauveur train station. The urban project fits harmoniously into an existing urban writing by convening the notions of heritage and heritage. Changes of use of buildings through history are characteristic of Vauban - Esquermes. That's why we prioritize enhancing the already there, and recycling of existing buildings. On this principle, the project fits in continuity of the urban form of the inhabited island and organized around private or collective gardens. The figure of the enclosure is clearly visible identity and neighborhood effect allowing to offer new volumes that will consolidate in the drawing. Then easily imagine, when the car will be less present, all the islands can be "cleaned" car parks, become permeable and generate microclimates, pleasant freshness islands to live.
This reflection on the new urban forms may also extend to public facilities: Possible pooling Meeting with local associations open to the public in schools, town halls, etc. On this principle of reversibility and adaptability, we reconstructed the walls of the EDF island with homes that are part of the urban continuity of existing but whose ground floor have a relatively large clearance to ensure their mutability commerce, store or popup instead of teleworking for example. Similarly we wanted to keep the concrete hall as a free space through which can be a real Multipurpose multipurpose space. A friendly place, which can serve residents and not just students across the island but also wide-Esquermes Vauban district. We also take the larger size of this island to implant a large-scale equipment that enables to consolidate this new polarity across the city. The district town hall is rather placed in heart of island at the crossroads of pedestrian path and enables to articulate the new open spaces. The city is well thought of as a shared infrastructure much more general and undifferentiated equipped with multifunctional spaces reorganized around the residential function. This helps reduce space consumption, power consumption and above all to maintain an urban intensity based on conviviality and social ties.
