Genius Loci is an association founded in 2021 by curator Marion Vignal with the vocation of enhancing architectural heritage and contemporary creation. Its first exhibition-experience program takes place in Villa L’Ange Volant, a total work created by Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti in 1927 in Garches.
For the occasion, architect Franklin Azzi signed an artistic creation, Le Saint, echoing Ponti’s spiritual dimension. Designed as an inaugural work, the steel and neon ring is suspended from trees by cables. The device, disappearing behind the foliage, lets a floating luminous halo magically appear above the entrance courtyard of the house. A celestial, minimal gesture inspired by the American Land Art movement, much appreciated by the Parisian architect.
