Sasaek-Horizons
Proposing a bridge-museum concept symbolizing the harmony between humanity, literature, history, and nature, French architect Franklin Azzi won 3rd prize in the international competition for the Korean National Literature Museum in Seoul.
Nestled in the flank of the mountain, Sasaek is a place that literally merges with nature. On the surface, it’s a path suspended above water whose clarity and lightness invite strolling and meditation. Inside the rock, it’s a cavern that shelters and protects archived works, consecrated memory. The project symbolizes a “continuum,” a bridge between space and time, nature and literature.
