Franklin Azzi has been invited to design the scenography for the exhibition "Annie and Jean Dalsace, les collections de la Maison de Verre" presented at Christie's Paris, from October 2 to 7, 2021.
The scenography highlights an extraordinary corpus of about sixty pieces of furniture by Pierre Chareau accompanied by artworks of Georges Braque, Giorgio de Chirico, Pablo Picasso or Max Ernst as well as tapestries by Jean Lurçat.
In 1918, Annie and Jean Dalsace, then newlyweds, commissioned Pierre Chareau to furnish their 195 Bd Saint-Germain apartment, marking the beginning of his career and a lasting friendship with the architect and his wife, Dollie. Their collection grew steadily over the years and was completed by numerous other creations, including his masterpiece, the Maison de Verre (1928-1932), a true architectural myth of the 20th century.
