On Saturday, April 30, 2022, after a last service, "La Tour" closed its doors for a historic renovation: the most complete in its history, after the one in 1936 that had moved the restaurant, then located on the first floor, to the 6th floor.
André Terrail, the 3rd generation at the head of the establishment, explains: "This adventure will bring together the best craftsmen and innovative implementations with Franklin Azzi as the architect. A collaboration with him quickly became evident. He distinguishes himself by his transversal approach, both technical and sensitive, and brings together architecture, interior design and art. His expertise in working on complex Parisian renovations, his ability to work with us to create a tailor-made project and his sensitivity to issues of sustainability, the environment and reuse, immediately appealed to us.
"At the invitation of André Terrail, the agency has proposed an ambitious project that meets a rich history to give it a more contemporary vision. This renewal will focus on the mutation of this heritage, this renewed urban landmark for Parisians and the world while offering a new façade on the city. As for the interior architecture, our intention is to make sustainable choices through the use of innovative know-how and the transformation of classic and noble materials - guarantees of timelessness in keeping with the image of the Tour d'Argent." Franklin Azzi, architect.
While it is still too early to reveal the details of this metamorphosis, one line of work can already be revealed: bringing the Tower into the 21st century! The illustrious building will reopen its doors shortly before those of Notre-Dame Cathedral and the inauguration of the Paris Olympic Games.
