Architecture
Versailles, Housing La Bruyère
The La Bruyère housing project unfolds in a green setting with 4 new buildings and 5 rehabilitated ones connected to Greater Paris through their proximity to the new Versailles Chantiers station. Franklin Azzi and Chartier Dalix agencies engaged in an architectural dialogue around these 9 constructions.
By playing on an organic distribution of the buildings that enhances exposure to nature, Franklin Azzi chose a treatment of recessed volumes with openings seemingly chiseled into the building mass. Thus, windows, loggias, and solariums all have views of the garden at angles that preserve privacy while promoting dialogue with neighboring lots and a sense of community belonging.
