The street area is situated at the place of the derelict ‘Hôtel d’Uzès’, built by Claude-Nicolas Ledoux in 1768 for the Duke of Uzès, François Emmanuel de Crussol. The mansion house was located at actual number 172 of the Montmartre Street. It was acquired by Benjamin Delessert in 1847 and then demolished in 1870. In just over a decade, Sir Benjamin Delessert had industrial buildings constructed along a new street named after the ‘Hôtel d’Uzès’ – Uzès Steet – which explains the overall harmony of style found today in this street.
The place is situated at 13 Uzès Street in the heart of Paris, close to the Paris Stock Exchange building and the Grand Rex. The building was constructed by the Eiffel workshop at the end of the 19th century. The first owner was the Boussac textile company run by Marcel Boussac who established himself as the leading provider of the French Army clothing, with the invention of the mythical French Grey uniform. He also is the one who discovers and invests money on a certain Christian Dior, and played a significant role in ensuring that Paris, once again, becomes the Capital of Fashion.
In 2011, FAA purchases the 650 square metre (7,000 square feet) property. Following lengthy renovation works, the place has regained its original state and becomes head office of Franklin Azzi Architecture & Franklin Azzi Design.
