As part of the extension of metro line 14 south of the Grand Paris Express, Franklin Azzi Architecture conceived the new station of l'Haÿ-les-Roses, defined as a "new centrality station" according to the principles of intentions of the Société du Grand Paris. Located on an independent parcel at the intersection of l'Hay-Les-Roses, Chevilly-Larue and Villejuif's municipalities, the station will allow the 40,000 daily users to be considerably closer to the center of Paris thanks to a transfer-free connection that is five times faster than today.
Franklin Azzi imagined a parallelepiped of 8 levels and 21m deep. Through their play of reflections and transparency, the glass walls underline the movements of the passengers and sublimate the graphic aspect of the station's components - staircases, corridors, mezzanines with warren beams. Glass, stainless steel, metal mesh and white Corian are combined in a search for durability and a discreetly refined aesthetic.
For this project, the architect collaborated with the artists Noemi Schipfer & Takami Nakamoto - studio Nonotak. The creative duo explores the infinite possibilities of geometry and proposes several luminous paintings as echoes of the station's corridors.
