Situated in the heart of the Palais de Tokyo – one of Europe’s greatest venues for contemporary art –the Yoyo is a 700 square metre (7,535 square feet) flexible space dedicated to prolong the visitor’s experience. It offers a new environment somehow permeated with the atmosphere of the French ‘Cinémathèque’ former rooms.
Delivered in September 2013, this versatile space is dedicated to arts, culture and events scene. Elements such as the rough concrete walls and the revisited entrance by street-artists, frame the concept of the Yoyo – a place designed to embrace all forms of creation, real incubator for artistic projects.
The full specification of this call for proposals demanded agile design thinking, to ensure the space a maximum flexibility. It would indeed need to adapt different venues such as conferences, symposiums, concerts, shows, screenings etc. In addition to this versatile day after day nature, the space would also embrace the possibility of nightlife events on Fridays and Saturdays.
As it is, the Yoyo offers an array of configurations and stage sets, plus the most advanced equipment – Full HD video, binaural sound system and 10-metre giant LED screen.
